How To Be The Best Fit For The Job

At CTR, our ideal placement is one that feels “just right” to the client and job seeker.  In this blog, we are going to share with you how to be the best fit for the job!

Pick Relevant Jobs

When a recruiter posts an ad for a “Maintenance Technician” and receives a resume of a Starbucks Barista, there is wasted effort on both sides. Submit your resume for positions that come close to the requirements, using the keywords and acronyms as your guide.

Be Truthful

Make sure that the way you present your knowledge and work history on your resume and in subsequent interviews is accurate. Never lie on your resume. The easiest way to get yourself disqualified from an employment opportunity is fabricating on your resume. It’s just not worth the risk.

Be Flexible

When working with a staffing firm, try to be a little flexible when it comes to shift, pay rate, industry, and location. Look at the overall opportunity and long-term prospects for meeting your career goals and financial objectives.

Keep an Open Mind

Holding out for a permanent job may seem like a worthy goal, but not always easy to achieve. Keep in mind, even a “permanent” job is in actuality probationary, with the first three months being a time of evaluation.  A Temp-Hire opportunity can be a wonderful way to prove yourself to a new employer and launch your career with a quality employer and company culture that suit you.

Sharpen your Skills

In our current competitive job market, it is vitally important to stay abreast of new developments. Raise your expectations and seek opportunities for continuous learning in your field.
