RM Nephew & Associates Acquired by Private Investor CTR Group

After a process that began in the fall of 2020, RM Nephew & Associates, LLC (RMN), a leading retained executive search firm headquartered in Boston, was acquired by a group of private investors led by majority partner CTR Group (CTR), a Virginia-based, family-owned corporation. Minority partners in the investment include BAG LLC, another family-owned private investor, and Mr. Luis Landinez, formerly a top executive at General Motors and Heineken.

RM Nephew & Associates was founded in 2010 by Mr. Robert Nephew, an executive search veteran with more than 35 years of experience. RMN has conducted hundreds of C-suite and board-level searches for its premier clients in the U.S. and abroad.

CTR Group is a 34-year-old holding company that operates nationwide. The firm has interests in real estate, software, and employment services, and serves an extensive list of clients in various industries, including shipyards, maritime, manufacturing, healthcare, defense, and industrial.

The acquisition positions RMN solidly for future growth and success while enabling the firm to better serve its clients with a multinational presence. RMN will have the opportunity to grow its in-house team, deepen its expertise, and expand its international capabilities. Mr. Nephew commented that “it is an honor for RMN to have been selected as the core platform from which CTR will build its global executive search business.”

CTR Group will be adding a strategic new offering to its business that will enable it to provide top-tier executive search services to its defense and commercial clients. Mr. Arnold Boyd, CTR’s Founder and CEO, stated that “we look forward to our expansion into the executive search arena. I see this acquisition as the ideal way for CTR to phase seamlessly into a new industry with an experienced and dedicated team already in place.”

Both RMN and CTR place great value on integrity, respect, relentless pursuit of client satisfaction, and open and honest communication. RMN remains committed to providing personalized, bespoke service to its clients.

The new firm will keep the original RMN team intact while adding two new Partners: Mr. David Bayer, Managing Partner, has 20+ years of experience in the executive search industry and has participated in numerous private equity/venture capital deals during his career. Mr. Luis Landinez, Partner, brings his experience from an impressive corporate career with General Motors and Heineken. Mr. Landinez will provide additional business development opportunities with large multinational corporations in the U.S. and Latin America.

Mr. Luke Tierney, key M&A executive at CTR, will act as Business Liaison between CTR Group and the new RMN firm.
